A bill put on with Antidismal. A storm that turned out to be a few dark clouds took the night down to one act, a rap group called Limelight Collective. One act played and it still counted as the first door. Nothing about the way this zine works was decided anywhere else.
Brisbane comes apart into bris, Gaelic, to break, and bane, Old English, bone. The city was already carrying the name. The zine took it and put a hammer on the cover.
The Big Takeover gig featuring Findaway. Bands, a mosh, handles swapped with strangers, and a handwritten note posted afterwards thanking everyone who played. Breakbone dates itself from that night and has been free ever since.
The fifty years behind those nights, written down before the forgetting takes them, from Club 76 to now.

Breakbone was born at the Big Takeover gig, the all-ages bill featuring Findaway, not in a garage. It has been made by hand in Meanjin/Brisbane since 2024.
