CLUB 76
Nobody would book the Saints, so in 1976 they rented a house on Petrie Terrace and booked themselves; called it Club 76, and played to whoever turned up. Then they cut '(I'm) Stranded' with their own money, put it out themselves, and the rest of the country spent a decade catching up.
Fifty years on, the door's still open. This whole site is the room behind it; every gig, every issue, every name we got down before the city forgot it.
You turned up. So sign the book; say what you came for and it goes in the record for good.
You're in the book. See you at the next one.
